Nectar Collector

Description

A nectar collector is used to vaporize concentrates (i.e. wax, shatter, badder.)

Nectar collectors vaporize concentrates instead of burning them (which may destroy or alter many of natural constituents in your cannabis concentrates.) Technically speaking, it is not “a vaporizer” but was initially known as a “vertical vaporizer” a “dab straw or “honey straw.” “Nectar Collector is the brand name of the first product as such to appear on the market and it has become the go-to terminology to describe this apparatus. Nectar collectors come in a variety of sizes and materials – glass or silicone being the main materials used.

Nectar collectors have three main parts, neck, body and tip. The neck is the mouthpiece through what you’ll inhale. The body falls between the neck and the tip and is similar to the water chamber in a bong or dab rig. In most nectar collectors, you can choose whether you use water in the body or not (wet nectar collector vs. dry nectar collector). Water is used to remove much of the harshness in the vapor before it reaches your throat and lungs. The tip of a nectar collector, which may be quartz or titanium is akin to the bowl of a bong or the nail of a dab rig.

The basic steps for utilizing a Nectar Collector:

1. The first step is to place the cannabis concentrate in the glass serving dish.
2. Next you will heat the tip of your nectar collector with a butane torch lighter until it’s very hot.
3. Allow the tip to cool for a minute.
4. Pick up the dish holding your concentrate.
5. When the tip has cooled sufficiently, put your mouth on the neck and tap the hot tip in the dish along the pile of concentrate. The longer you hold the tip in the concentrate, the more vapor will be produced.
6. Inhale.
