Kief:The cannabis plant is covered in resinous glands known as trichomes which contain THC, CBD, cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds. When the trichome crystals have been removed from the plant they are referred to as kief. It generally has a lower THC concentrate than other cannabis concentrates.

Kief is usually darker than trichomes, ranging from gold to brown. It’s a powdery substance that is somewhat sticky, though less so than trichomes on a bud. Kief is also referred to as “pollen.”

How to consumer kief: Kief can be added to bowls or joints for an added kick. It can also be pressed into hash or mixed into cannabutter after decarboxylation. Moon rocks are nugs that are covered in hash oil and then rolled in kief. They are very potent and easy to make at home. Some Indian cultural and religious traditions include the smoking Charas which are balls of rolled kief. Some grinders have added kief/trichome catchers in the bottom. After weeks or months of grinding buds, kief collects in the catcher. The kief can then be scraped out and used as desired.
